2nd Annual Keep Pounding 5K Ramps Up to Help Sideline Pediatric Cancer

Levine Children's Hospital is proud to be partnering with the Carolina Panthers and North Highland Consulting to bring you the 2nd Annual Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run! This second annual event will take place Saturday, May 19th, 2012.This annual event, sponsored by North Highland Consulting, benefits pediatric cancer programs at Levine Children's Hospital. Participants have the exclusive opportunity to run a challenging course through Bank of America Stadium and finish out on the field. The course begins on the CMC Main campus on Harding near Morehead Street and continues up "mount Morehead" to the Bank of America Stadium. Runners enter the stadium campus at the South Gate, run half a lap around the outside of the stadium, and enter through the North Gate. From there, participants will climb the ramps to the 500 level, run one lap around, and descend to the zero level where they will run through the "Cat Tunnel" to finish on the field!This event is unique for many reasons. Not only can runners finish on the field but participants are encouraged to invite family and friends to join them in the stadium. The Panthers open the lower bowl of the stadium for spectators!The event benefits pediatric cancer programs at Levine Children's Hospital. Funding supports vital resources in the FIGHT against pediatric cancer including new Phase I and Phase II clinical trials now offered at Levine Children's Hospital. Thanks to these new trials, families have access to the most advanced treatments available where it matters most – close to home.
